The event, coordinated by Kindred Hospital St. Louis, aims to provide over 400 backpacks packed with school supplies to students in need.  Students of all schools and ages may attend the event. High schoolers will receive bags packed with supplies like notebooks and folders. Younger students will get backpacks full of crayons and glue sticks.  Kevin Shrake, Chief Executive Officer of Kindred Hospital, said he wanted to extend the hospital’s mission of servant leadership into the community.  “It gives our people a chance to exercise what we do everyday; serve the community, but outside our four walls,” Shrake said.  Bag Backpack “We want to make sure that the bags get into the hands of people who actually need them,” Shrake said.   The St. Louis Boys and Girls Club will drive students in need of transportation.
