Next Saturday, June 8, will be a day of fun and entertainment for kids ages sixteen and under, as the Northern Bay Fishing Club holds its annual fishing tournament for kids. North East Town Park is the place and 9 a.m. is the starting time. Fishing will go on until about 11 a.m., when a lunch will be provided. We do our best to make sure everyone is having a good time fishing and eating. Participants may bring their own rods and reels, or they may be provided with one for no cost. A long-handled net will be available just in case a fish may need to be lifted over the rocks. Simply ask one of the volunteers for help. Speaking of which, plenty of volunteers will be scattered around the area to assist in getting registered, check in fish, fix rods and reels, serve lunch, and countless other things. Prizes will be given for the biggest fish for each of three groups. Awards will be given after lunch. It doesn’t really take a big guy to catch the biggest fish.
